As far as shoe brands go, we can all admit that Adidas, Nike and even Converse are the constant talk-of-the-talk. Those cutting edge black stripes from Adidas, sleek swooshes from Nike and even the classic All Star from Converse are engrained in our memories forever. However, one shoe brand we haven’t been talking about enough is Reebok. Talk about the biggest flashback to third grade, right?

Aside from hitting peak nostalgia, Reebok has been making a comeback with our favorite celebrities and with some great new styles, but what’s most notable about the classic brand is their most recent campaign.

The #PerfectNever campaign is a women’s empowerment movement that works to promote exercising and athleticism for physical and mental wellness, not for the fulfillment of a particular body image.

Even the motto behind the campaign is beautiful.

“Perfection is boring. It never changes, never improves and never shows you anything different.”

Reebok has partnered with big-name celebrities and athletes such as Ronda Rousey and even international supermodel/boxing enthusiast Gigi Hadid. These celebrities act as the face of the campaign to share their own imperfections and struggles in a world where everything they do is scrutinized in the media. They work to help women understand that exercising and getting fit should be about both mental and physical clarity and health.

“Working out isn’t only physical for me,” Hadid said in the press release. “It’s mental. It helps me escape the noise in my head. It’s the only time my mind goes quiet.”

The #PerfectNever campaign has a great message that we can’t stop talking about and neither should you. Reebok focuses on its intrinsic message of self-betterment and loving yourself. The movement is meant to inspire women to accept themselves with all of their imperfections in order to help motivate them to find their inner strength.

“There are a lot of unrealistic standards being put on everyone,” Rousey said in a press release. “I think it’s good to have examples out there who say, ‘You know what, not everyone is always going to like you, but life will go on. You’ll be okay, and you can still love yourself.’”

If that isn’t enough reason for you to go check out Reebok’s new celebrity panel and campaign, their new and improved shoe designs are definitely worth having a look at. Click here to check out more info on the campaign and see how you can share your #PerfectNever story.
