Falcons or Patriots?

Regardless of your team preference, one of the biggest sporting events of the year is happening this Sunday, February 5. Even if you may only be interested in the commercials and halftime show like the rest of us, watching the game should be a staple event for your upcoming calendar.

If you’re looking for different places to watch Super Bowl LI this upcoming Sunday, whether your TV maybe down or you’re looking for someplace new to go, consider this quick checklist of areas to go to fulfill all of your football (or maybe just halftime show) needs!

At UNT

1. The Student Union

The University Program Council at the University of North Texas will be hosting a Super bowl watch party this Sunday at 5:00 in the Union, room 314. Students and their friends are welcome for free food and prizes but remember that UNT students will have first priority.

2. Clark Hall

If you live on campus or know of any students who do, feel free to check out Clark Hall’s watch party starting at 4 PM. Games, food and prizes will be available to anyone with a student ID while supplies last.

If you are 21 and over, feel free to check out these bars and other locations to both watch the game and get your drink on.

In Denton

3. Cool Beans Bar and Grill

Cool Beans bar and grill features Happy Hour all day Sunday and a Dive Bar brunch until 4PM. Their liquor pitchers will be $6 all day long and their food menu includes a wide range of everything from burgers and sandwiches to vegetarian options and munchies.

4. Riprocks Bar and Grill

Riprocks is having $0.50 wings all day Sunday to satisfy even the hungriest of people while you keep your eyes glued to the screen. Add pool, foosball, shuffleboard and Ping-Pong and you’ve got a great environment to watch the game.

 In DFW

5. Christie’s Sports Bar

Christie’s large TV screens, game-day drink specials, and bar snacks will be a great place to spend Super Bowl Sunday, but if you’re planning to bring a big party of 10 or more make sure to make a reservation.

6. The Nodding Donkey

Aside from this popular sports bar and grills amazing drink specials, the restaurant will be featuring the game on every flat screen TV in the house. Besides their highly recommended appetizers and snacks, the Nodding Donkey Want also has giant Jenga, Connect 4, and beer pong to keep you interested and engaged.

If none of these seem like the right place to beat out your best friends couch and endless drink supply feel free to go to the closest Hooters, Buffalo Wild Wings or if your in the Denton area check out Lucky Lou’s sports bar or East Side’s rustic bar.
