Summer is quickly approaching, which means it’s time for a summer diet, a summer body and a summer glow.

This selfie season, you can achieve a natural summer radiance that will give you a Snapchat glow with #NoFilter. (Even though we’re dying for the butterfly crown filter to return.)

1) Hydrate.

The #1 key for achieving radiance is hydration—from the inside out. Drinking water is important year-round, but it especially essential in the warmer months when our bods are more susceptible to dehydration. Make sure you’re pairing your poolside cocktails with plenty of H2O to keep you looking and feeling refreshed. Add in a few water-rich fruits like cucumbers and berries for an extra boost of flavor and hydration. Popsugar has some great water detox recipes here.

2) Cleanse Your Diet.

Remember being told that beauty is more than skin deep? It is. Be sure to munch on some antioxidant-rich fruits and veggies like blueberries and broccoli between summer BBQs. Fruits and veggies will provide Vitamin C and collagen, which will keep your skin looking supple, smooth and radiant. Panera Bread even has a special seasonal menu with summer salads filled with lots of goodness, and that’s something we can all get behind.

3)Detox.

It’s time to revive your dull, dry winter skin. Cleanse your skin of all of the toxins that are lingering in your pores to reveal radiant, beautiful skin. You can detox with an exfoliator or sugar scrub to remove dead skin cells, try a facial mask or peel, sip a detox tea, or sweat it out with a steam session or at a sauna. Check out these cool detox products that will have you feeling purely refreshed. Bath and Body Works Signature Collection Sugar Scrub in Coco Shea Honey, $13.50, bathandbodyworks.com; Freeman Feeling Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal Clay Mask, $4.29, Ulta.com; Skin Owl beauty Steam in Marigold Glow, $48, skinowl.com

4) Amp Up Your Exercise.

If you’re not one to sweat it out with a steam sesh or in a sauna, you can get the same effects (for free) with exercise. Sweat out dirt and debris trapped in your pores with a good workout in the gym. Go for a run, take a kickboxing class, or try out hot yoga. A high-intensity sweat ses will have you walking away feeling like a badass—and even better—radiating a post-gym glow. 5) Use Sunscreen.

Soaking up the summer sun is a perfect way to achieve a natural (and free) glowing tan, but it sunscreen is a necessary evil to keep you looking bronzed, not burned. Be sure to apply a layer of sunscreen underneath your makeup and on all areas exposed to the sun. Most dermatologists recommend a formula with SPF 30 to ensure coverage from UV ray damage. Check out some of these inexpensive drugstore sunscreens, so you can look sunkissed, not sunburned. Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Lotion SPF 55, $6.59, Target.com; Cerave Sunscreen Broad Spectrum Face Lotion SPF 30, $14.99, Ulta.com; Aveeno Active Naturals Protect + Hydrate for Face SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion, $12.99, Walgreens.com

6) Fake It.

You can fake your bronzed beach babe beauty (say that three times fast) with makeup. Try out a bronzing powder or lotion, highlighter or illuminating powder to add radiance to your skin with ease. Pro tip: use setting spray before applying your bronzer or highlighter to really make your glow pop! Some popular summertime products include Ulta Beauty Illuminator in four colors, $10, Ulta.com; L’Oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator in three colors, $12.99, Ulta.com; Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body Luminous, $32, Sephora.com.
