We all know that Halloween is one of the most popular holidays in America’s culture. If you’re between baby age to early teens, you dress up in costumes and go door to door for free candy. However, the older we get, the scarier costumes get and us young adults are now just trying to get in a good scare. The Pumpkin Spice latte has nothing on the newest fall trend; Clowns. If you have any form of social media, you’ve heard of the clown catastrophe that has kept the nation indoors before dark.

The “creepy clown craze” has swept the nation, causing fear in many cities around the country and even here in Denton. The clowns have been said to stand in the dark on the sides of streets near woods to “lure children” into them. The clowns have also been said to attack people of any age when they are by themselves, just for a scare.

The real question is, how can we avoid being the next victim of these terrorizing clowns?

Here’s what you should do if you see a clown this Halloween:

Be scarier than them.

You know what they always say, kill them with kindness. If you want to really scare the clowns away, be just as weird and scary. They’ll cower down like a puppy.

Be a clown also.

Clowns obviously aren’t going to scare each other…

Stay indoors aka do not partake in ANY Halloween festivities.

But for real though, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

The clown probably isn’t wearing his Nike’s so you’re probably safe if you make a run for it.

Obviously the clowns are not something to take lightly, but if you are aware of your surroundings and make sure to stay in a group of people at night, you’ll make it through this outrageous trend.

Stay safe everyone!
